1920's Farmhouse Whole House Remodel Project Update
Hey everyone. This is Brandon with Freemans Construction. I’m here at this whole house remodel that we have going on in the Escondido area. I want to update you on the progress we’ve made since the last video.
Front of House
Beginning with the front of the house, we just finished up all this decorative brick work, which turned out great. To the left, the garage is finished and next to the, the rec room stands all the way to the left. We completed a lot of concrete flatwork last. I’m going to take you inside to show the progress we’ve made there.
Inside the Home
We’re nearing the end of this project and a lot of little details need to wrap up here at the end, but it’s coming together really well. This fireplace was built last week. There’s going to be a wood mantle that goes on top of that, which will tie in really well with the flooring as well the exposed beams and Cedar ceiling in here. We installed under cabinet lighting here, both in this buffet area and also over in another spot in the kitchen which looks great in that little area right there. The appliances were installed last week. We still have a little bit left to do to finish out the stove top and the downdraft there, but Bosch stainless steel appliances look terrific.
Master Suite
I’ll take you in here to the master bedroom and bath area. We’ve made good progress here as well. The glass contractor installed this full-width mirror. It’s about 12 foot wide and looks really good here. These fixtures are mounted directly to the mirror, which is a pretty tedious project. It is important to make sure you do it just right, so you don’t crack that expensive mirror.
This shower enclosure got installed last week. It’s a frame-less unit with a half inch glass. The tile shower surround turned out fantastic. We’re still waiting on one piece of the shower fixture to finish that up. We’re almost done. Soon we’ll pull up the paper, do a final cleanup, and wrap this thing up. I’ll take you out on the back patio to show you all the flat work that’s been poured out there.
This will be a really nice area to enjoy the property once the project is finished. We’ll keep you updated.
