Finishing Touches to School Daze Whole House Remodel

Hi everyone, this is Brandon Freeman with Freeman’s Construction. I’m here in Ramona at this whole house remodel and we are making good progress. I’m here in the master bathroom area and want to give an update on what’s progressed in here. The shower tile is just about finished. That niche there will get finished up today. We’re installing a shelf that goes right there in the middle. The shelf should be about an inch and a half thick.

This shower seat will be finished out with a quartzite benchtop and will match the countertop. The cabinets have been installed and stained. They turned out beautiful. I really want to point out this floor here. This is something relatively new that we are doing. We are integrating radiant floor heating into this floor. This orange plastic slip sheet gets installed first with some thin set underneath and this gray wire that you see woven back and forth, that’s the heating element. This will provide heating to the entire footprint of this floor.

This poses less risk than traditional radiant heating with hot water pipes with zero chances of leaks. Another nice feature with this is the convenient thermostat that will be mounted right here. This thermostat will be a touchscreen with about six different programmable modes. It pairs with your smartphone, which allows you to program the heating to turn on when you get up in the morning, so no more cold floors.

That’s it for today. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful day.
